#09: winter, is that you??

It's a Sunday evening and today is the first time in forever that I'm getting into a Christmas mood earlier than the 23rd! It's absolutely insane to me that Christmas is in three weeks - and that means 2026 is only one month away. November has been a somber one and I am taking the opportunity of the start of the month to absolutely obliterate the depressing grey energy I've been carrying around with me. I'm listening to jazzy Christmas music covers by Laufey and crocheting myself things and brainstorming present ideas for my friends and kind of ignoring the fact I actually have exams coming up. This is joy, this is whimsy, this is me making the best of the rest of the year!!!!!! And no I'm not saying that just to abandon my self respect within four days!!!!!! I am building the first good December in years!!!!!!

I was very sick the past week and a half and so work was a lot this week - we actually barely have anything going on this internship phase (very grateful for that, idk if I would've survived a standard work week in my condition..), but I haven't been in the best mindset the past week and barely being able to talk normally, let alone sing, did not help. However, I'm hoping to start the next week off nicely tomorrow and get myself out of this slump!!! I am finally kind of back to normal, I will not let grey weather and solitude ruin this for me!

I've kind of been getting back into creating, though it hasn't been easy, but all a girl can do is try! Mood swings are messing with me and so I haven't written in a while, but I'm trying to get back into journaling more again to get me back to writing poetry to get me back into writing music. I've been drawing a little more again as well - I've discovered I really enjoy copying intricate designs from things like church windows or old handcrafted doors, I have art class to thank for that (if you remember the lego study sheet, the techniques I learned for it are the same ones I'm practicing with these studies!).

not perfect - it's not supposed to be :3

Along with that, I have a new crochet project I am insanely excited about! I won't spoil the surprise but I will be sharing when I finish it X) Also, as work has been really slow, I tried out a new addition to our recording studio: an electric drum set!!! I won't lie to you and pretend I'm good at it, but trying out different beats and kind of getting them right was something I didn't know would make me this euphoric. I might keep going next week if I have a little time.

And here's another interesting development: my school is offering a paid for two week Erasmus trip to Dublin for an internship next year and I applied!!! I won't pretend I'm confident I'll get it, but it would be the most insane opportunity ever and I'm very eager to see the results. Even if I don't get in, some of my classmates applied and I can very much imagine them getting in too, every single person I've met at my school so far is insanely talented!!!!!

Oh hey, I also finally got around to requesting my personal id... I'm a little late, I know, oops.. but now I only have to wait a month or so and then I finally won't feel like a criminal walking around town with no id whatsoever. I was pretty nervous to do all this bureaucracy stuff on my own because my mum's out of town, but it was really easy and took literally 15 minutes to do!

Anyway, that's it for me this week, lots of changes are happing in the background but nothing concrete enough to be of importance or worthy of reporting to you guys - we'll see how the first week of December goes and I'll report back to you!

As always, thank you so much for your time and have a great start to the month!!! Remember, Winter will be kind to you if you treat her nicely! Take care now, have a great rest of your Sunday :)

x juno
